As part of its "Noted Environmentalists Lecture Series", the Environmental Learning Center (ELC) in Vero Beach Florida, along with the Indian River Land Trust, is presenting a talk on Wednesday, January 21 from 6:30 until 8 pm about Biofuels called "Getting Gas From Garbage".
Dr. Ann C. Wilkie, the 2007 winner of the 2008 Florida Energy Achievement Award, will be presenting the information. Her current research project involves biodiesel production from algae. A quote from Dr. Wilkie: "Fossil fuel is fossil thinking."

Doug in Cape Canaveral is selling a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI that has been modified to run on Waste Vegetable Oil in addition to diesel/biodiesel. He estimates its mileage at 36mpg with either fuel. If you are interested contact him via email.
On Saturday October 11th, Brevard Biodiesel will be part of an alternative / efficient vehicle display at the Space Coast Progressive Alliance 4th annual festival.

Florida Space Coast Clean Cities Coalition is putting on a 1 day workshop covering biodiesel topics on Friday October 3rd, 2008. It will be held from 10am to 3pm at the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) at 1679 Clearlake Road in Cocoa FL.
